Thousands Demonstrate in Dallas to Support Palestine Amid Violent Israeli Attacks

Massive crowds gathered on Saturday, May 15th at the Grassy Knoll in downtown Dallas to demonstrate in support of Palestine.

The local media has failed to report on the gathering, which shut the city down for several hours as slogans like “Free Free Palestine” and “End the Occupation” echoed in the city streets.

What’s Happening?

Over the past few days, Israeli forces have escalated violence in the Occupied West Bank and the Gaza strip.

The tension began when residents of the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah were forcibly removed from their homes, flooding social media with photos and videos calling for an end to the evictions.

Israeli forces also broke into the Al-Aqsa compound, throwing stun grenades and shooting rubber coated bullets at worshippers in the final nights of the holy month of Ramadan.

As popular support for the Palestinians gained attention worldwide, Israeli fighter planes bombed family homes in Gaza and leveled towers that housed journalists from Al Jazeera, the Associated Press, and other news outlets.

Israeli plans for ethnic cleansing of Jerusalem have been put on hold, as international attention has been brought to the Palestinian plight. They plan to renew their efforts after June 8th, expecting the social media support to die down.

Former president Donald Trump facilitated Israel’s moving of its capital to the city of Jerusalem, which led to the current efforts to cleanse Jerusalem of its hundreds of thousands of Palestinian residents. President Joe Biden is now following up with unrelenting support for Israel’s violent genocide.

While the situation seems bleak, we must bravely speak out, stand for justice, and make sincere prayers, for a Free Palestine.
